Why I Loved Black Panther

The main reason, I liked Black Panther outside of it being a Marvel comic are the strong female leads. Rarely do we see a movie or superheroes showing women in a positive, empowering light. Wakanda warriors protecting the king were women, the princess was a tech genius, and the love interest was a spy with a mission to save the people.

I love that a princess and can be a genius, strong and feminine at the same time. Being smart and strong doesn’t your femininity and the men weren’t threatened by your power.

In the video clip, Lupita N’yongo says, “The women are allowed to assume their power. They’re allowed to realize their full potential alongside the men.” We need to take steps to bring this to the real world.
